WEskills Connection Specialist

Candy Eagen is the WEskills Connection Specialists at Workforce WindsorEssex.

Over the years, Candy has been fortunate to gain many skills through a variety of working experiences. She previously spent many years working at Chromeshield Plating Company as a Production Line Assistant/Lead Hand. She also held the position of Secretary/Co-Chair of Chromeshield’s plant union.

After Chromeshield’s plant closure she had the opportunity to work at the Chromeshield Labour Adjustment office as a Peer Helper/Co-ordinator. In this role she assisted Chromeshield co-workers who were displaced by the plant closures. Additional, she had the opportunity to publish a monthly newsletter that provided important information and updates on the idle state and closure of the plant. The newsletter also highlighted information on current government funding for training and employment opportunities. After the closure of the Chromeshield Adjustment office, she was able to move over to the CAW 195 Community Labour Adjustment Services office as a peer helper and eventually Coordinator.

These work experiences prepared Candy for her current role at Workforce WindsorEssex. You may see her through the week as she collects resumes at the City of Windsor Employment & Training Services Resource office. She is responsible for entering the resume information into the database, and conducting database searches based on criteria such as job title, NOC/NAICS codes and education.

On top of her WEskills role, Candy is also our Health & Safety Coordinator, working to ensuring that our Health and Safety information board and training are current and up-to-date. She also serves as Secretary for the Workforce WindsorEssex Board of Directors meetings, where she records meeting minutes and resolutions for the Board of Directors. With Candy on our team we never need to fear of running out of supplies, as she oversees all our office supply orders and stock.
